We are delighted to share that Wakefield District Sight Aid has been honoured with the King's Award for Voluntary Service — the highest award given to voluntary groups in the UK.
The award recognises the extraordinary contribution made by our volunteers, who give their time every week to support people living with sight loss across the Wakefield district.
Our CEO, Hayley Grocock, said: "This recognition goes far beyond the charity itself. It belongs to every volunteer who has made a difference — driving someone to a hospital appointment, sitting with them over a coffee, or simply picking up the phone."
We are proud to accept this honour on behalf of everyone who makes WDSA the community it is.
